My Students
Most of my students are first generation immigrants from countries all over the world. Many of my students face many daily challenges such as conquering language barriers, adjusting to life in a new country and the stress of being a middle school student. Students with Disabilities often have a difficult time with their processing skills, organizational skills and remembering tasks and assignments.
As a Title I school, which is considered high poverty, many of my students do not have the ability of purchasing classroom support items to ensure their success.
It is very difficult for most of my students to complete homework assignments, projects and study for tests. It is my goal with this project to assist my students help them become organized and responsible for their assignments, which will help them in the future!
My Project
Academic planners allow students to improve time management skills, assignment tracking and organizational skills. Students will become responsible for keeping track of their work and will improve their self-esteem and motivation when they monitor their own achievements.

Transitioning form elementary school to middle school can be extremely overwhelming especially for students with disabilities. Students will learn important organizational skills which will benefit them for the rest of their lives. These planners also help promote communication between parents and teachers, and allow parents to see exactly what their child is responsible for in each class.
