My Project

Our school year is coming to an end. This is my second year with this class. As they transition from fifth grade to intermediate school, they have needs to be met for success. Instructional time in the classroom have been focused on language arts and math while valuable skills have not been practiced this year due to not having student planners for the whole school year.

Students deserve to learn organizational skills that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

I am requesting planners for my 5th grades to set them up for success in sixth grade and beyond. The erasable pens will allow them to correct mistakes on their planners without feeling like they messed up their pages. Teaching them to use their planners now will help them create a habit that will stick with them through 6th grade and hopefully for the rest of their lives.

End of the school year testing will start soon. Students often come to school hungry and have a hard time focusing their thoughts. I am requesting snacks for my students to eat before they begin testing for the day. I believe that if a student is fed, they will perform better on their test and in school. Snacks should give them the fuel they need to persevere through the lengthy tests they are expected to complete at their young age.
