This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Polar Bear Cubs are in need of pitched instruments, music stands, choral risers, a sound system for enhanced performances in the coming school year.

The music program at Austin Achieve has come a long way since its start 4 years ago, but we are still lacking a dedicated area to perform at our campus.

Choral risers would be perfect for all students in the performing arts. No more searching for outside venues, bugging our high school campus to use their too-big-gym, or worrying about the “how” anymore.

A PA system is essential for the Performing Arts at Achieve as well. We need a sound system specifically for us that isn’t shared with the rest of the school’s needs.

We have beat and rhythm nailed down, now it’s time to add pitch into the mix. My classroom is in need of more pitched instruments. A pack of 100 recorders would help serve almost the entire 4th grade and new Orff instruments would widen the scope of many scholars' learning. Last but not least, music stands would support their ability to read music in a professional manner.
