This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school's third, fourth, and fifth grades are full of dynamic scholars who are eager to learn despite the many difficulties of their home environments. For this reason, student morale is high at our school. From the first day of the school year, the students realize that they are in a success-oriented workplace. The teaching focus is on student engagement and collaborative learning. We are ever alert to the social and emotional needs of the students and persistently endeavor to cultivate a welcoming space. Every day is a fresh start for learning and behavior. Our teachers partner hand in hand with the parents and guardians so as to achieve the best student outcomes.

My Project

Through PowerMyLearning, I and a team of fellow teachers will learn how to incorporate groundbreaking strategies for engaging families in learning that integrate seamlessly into instructional plans. The PowerMyLearning Family Engagement Innovators Program is designed for teachers in grades 3-8 and includes three hands-on online professional development sessions plus access to PowerMyLearning's Family Playlists™, an easy-to-use program that puts students in the teacher’s seat at home and drives content mastery and social emotional learning skills. With the help of all of this collaborative learning, we are hoping that this path-breaking program will enhance and foster our family engagement activities for years to come.
