This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our urban community, many families have been profoundly affected by cancer, making support and awareness more crucial than ever. To address this, my students are leading a heartfelt initiative to raise awareness and provide support to those impacted by breast cancer within our school and the broader community.

We request items such as beads and elastic string to make awareness bracelets.

These materials will serve multiple purposes. Students will distribute these items during school events, local community gatherings, and awareness walks to educate others about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

By engaging in these activities, our students aim increase knowledge about Breast Cancer prevention and support resources. Our students will encourage a community culture of compassion and assistance for those affected and understand the significance of community service and active participation in societal issues.

Through this initiative, we aspire to create a more informed, compassionate, and united community in the face of adversity.
