This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a second grade class of 21 students. Most of them are English language learners who come from diverse, low economic backgrounds.
My students love to read. That's their favorite thing to do. Our school library is being remodeled, so the only library they have is in my classroom. I used to have a big bean bag a few months ago, but it finally had to be tossed from the wear and tear. I now have a small chair that sits 2 kids. So you can imagine the fighting that goes on when they want to sit there.
I would love to have 3 big bean bags in my classroom library. This will make my library a much more appealing place for my students and will also invite more of my students to start reading.
Your donation will ensure that my students get a comfortable place to sit while they read. Since reading is one of their favorite activities, the bean bags will be an even bigger incentive. Your support in making my library better is truly appreciated.
