Do you remember what it was like to go to school and learn from the best teachers using the coolest games and hands on activities? My students loved learning using games and manipulatives until a tornado came through the school and took all the hands on things they loved.
Most of my students come from low income families.
We are a Title 1 school and many students receive free or reduced lunches. Our school tries as hard as we can to provide all of the needed classroom materials in order to enrich the students learning and give them the best possible educational environment to learn. Our school is constantly sending teachers to workshops to enhance our knowledge of current teaching trends and best practices for teaching literacy and math to students.
My Project
Literacy games and Math games will allow my students to reinforce skills that they learn through curriculum and instruction. My students often struggle with learning new skills, so it is vital that I reinforce them.
Through the use of hands on games and manipulatives, I can give students a fun way to remember the skills they just learned. I am an avid believer that hands on interactive instruction fosters learning to the fullest. My students eyes light up when I tell them we are going to do an activity or play a special game.
By funding my project, you give my class the opportunity to rebuild what was lost by a horrible disaster.
Some of my students have lost everything, including their homes and I want to make sure they have the opportunity to have some normalcy in their life again and have their eyes light up and a big smile on their face when they hear we are going to do a "special" activity or play a game. Please help me bring back some of their happiness.
