Pictures In Music

My students need a digital camera, memory card, and lens cleaner to add photographs to projects we create in music class.

My Students

Music is an important part of any classroom. I teach 500 Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Kansas. I try to find new and interesting ways to help my students learn using music.

Music should be fun for students.

Having a digital camera available will help my students learn different moods in music and about composing. My students will make PowerPoint presentations about our school and insert music that they compose. These presentations would be much more interesting if they could take pictures of themselves and insert them into their projects.

My Project

If we were to receive the camera requested, students would be able to photograph their friends or themselves and insert the pictures into PowerPoint projects. Every student in every class I teach would be able to benefit from this camera. We could also use it to photograph school events and place the pictures on our school website or my class blog site. “Pictures In Music” will allow students to present that information in a fun and interesting way using a digital camera. Students in grade 5 will participate (approximately 200 students).

The projects the students create with their own photographs will inspire them and excite them!

In addition, at the end of the semester, we can create a slide show for each class so that they can review the year and leave the class with great memories.
