My Students

Share our art! Our art program needs a new digital camera so we can clearly shoot, document and share all of our wonderful creations!

Our school is a Title I Striving School located in Tennessee.

We are an elementary school which serves approximately 350 children from Pre-K to fifth grade. My students love coming to art! They are extremely talented and are constantly pushing themselves in the art room. We love to draw and paint!

My Project

Having a new digital camera for our art department will allow all of the students in the school the chance to document and share their artwork, while getting hands-on experience with technology. A digital camera creates opportunities to share our artwork with many people both inside and outside of the school. For example, students will be able to submit digital pictures of their artwork for competitions. Students will also be able to share artwork digitally with their peers. This is important so students can critique and get inspired by each others art. Not only will students be able to share their artwork, students will have hands-on experience taking pictures and documenting their work. My goal is to have students from third grade and older photograph and organize their artwork into digital portfolios. This means students will get experience taking photographs, uploading images, and creating files on the computer.

This project is so important because my students need the opportunity to share their artistic achievements.

It is vital for people to see that even though we are a striving school, my students are smart, creative, capable, and more than a test score. A digital camera will allow us to document our achievements and share them with others.
