My Students

I enjoy when students walk into a classroom and never want to leave. So far, I've been blessed with classes that enjoy being in the classroom. I believe in making learning fun. I was the kind of student who learned best from hands-on activities and I believe that it is beneficial and fun to all students.

I work in an inclusion setting with students with special needs.

It is my hope to teach my students to be able to live in a world that they can contribute in.

My Project

Recently, I took our preschoolers to the Sea Life Park. I had bought them disposable cameras (yes, they still have these) to take pictures of the animals they saw. Unfortunately, as fun as they had with them, they had run out of film within the first couple of hours of getting their hands on those cameras.

Picture this, students taking control of their own learning!

By providing digital cameras, they are able to take pictures of what interests them. They are able to guide us, the teachers, to develop curriculum in which they had a say in, making learning meaningful and interesting to them.

I have a class of 20, but am asking for 10 digital cameras because I also want my students to learn to work together, to compromise and take turns. I also hope to develop an interest in art. When they review their photos I hope that they are able to decide which photos they should keep, explain why, and print versus which ones to delete.
