My students need a digital camera to use as their voice.

My Students

My children have special needs including autism, fetal alcohol syndrome, ADHD, Apraxia, etc. These are all disabilities which require the children to learn differently and creatively. Many of these children come from a low socioeconomic background.

In recent years there has been a drastic cut of funding for our district and without you, these children will not be given the chances to do many things!

Our district used to receive ample state funding to provide the best educational opportunity possible.

My Project

With a camera I can extend the language of my students. I have children who are nonverbal and we are teaching through picture exchange, go talk and applied behavioral analysis. These students can function in the classroom with picture labels, schedules and choice boards.

At the end of the day when a parent greets their nonverbal child, it has always been a request to be able to ask about their day.

With a camera I can keep parents involved through social media, class books and recall sheets. The parents will know what their child did at school, thanks to technology!
