This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help struggling writers turn their stories into works of art. Teaching in a high-need community where funds are already stretched money for technology simply does not exist. My 4th and 5th grade students work hard through out the year to create stories, advertisements,and non-fiction articles but are too embarrassed to share them because they are often hand written and lack colorful illustrations.

My students are excited about technology and are learning the importance of exciting illustrations and graphics to catch a readers attention. They beg me to print things from home or go to a copy store which is costly. Having a color printer in our room would be amazing.

If we had an HP color printer students would be about to print their stories to share with others. They would also be able to utilize our digital camera and print photos in color. As a teacher I'd be able to color code assignments for struggling students and create vibrant posters throughout our learning environment.
