Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has partnered with Reflo Sustainable Water Solutions and we are set to begin construction on a greener, healthier playground by removing approximately 15,300 square feet of asphalt. While learning outdoors and in the fresh air, we can boost academics and our students will show improvements in focus, attention, memory, creativity, and critical thinking.
Our schoolyard redevelopment includes three outdoor classrooms, one with a shade pavilion, and materials to support outdoor learning.
To support student learning and growth in these new outdoor spaces, we need permanent, accessible seating to complete the classroom areas.
