This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All students learn best when they are able to take responsibility for their learning, including where and how they do their best work. In order to help students optimize their learning, we need more seating options in our classroom. Our classroom is a co-taught class, which means students are often learning in small groups. Currently, students have to pull their bulky chairs to their small group and try to squeeze around a table. This is not only time consuming, but can be uncomfortable and distracting for students.
Flexible seating options will not only make their learning more comfortable, but it will allow students to choose where they will do their best learning.
All of our students come to class excited to learn and bring their best effort forward when working in small groups. Our students will greatly benefit from the opportunity to choose their own seating, and be able to work in a small group comfortably.
