Pianos for General Music: A Noteworthy Cause!

Help me give my students the opportunity to play piano during our general music class!

My Project

General music is new to our middle school this year and we currently have 5 mini piano sets that were donated. We have an average of 25 kids per class and we would love to have a few more so more students can play. The piano keyboards would provide students the opportunity to apply their knowledge of music theory to an instrument. Prior to being able to play, the students will have learned music elements such as rhythm notation, note names, and placement of keys.

All of the music students would love the opportunity to play an instrument and the piano is an instrument that easily sparks interest into becoming a lifelong learner of music.

The headphones that come with the set will allow independent practice and build self-esteem. Each student will get their own guide with advancing levels. As they progress, they will be able to work at their own pace. The hope is to inspire an interest in music so that they continue to explore long after they leave the music classroom.
