This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are a tight knit community known as the Bears. These Bears come from a low income area, one of the most low income regions in the state. They have big hearts and take pride in being Bears each day, in a school environment that fosters caring for each other and standing up for what is right. Music has its place in this community as a creative outlet and, for many, a defining character trait. We are so proud of our Bears and want the best for them so they can get the experiences and blessings that come from being a musician.

My Project

We are currently working on getting a group of piano keyboards for our students. We recently had a donor give two keyboards and we are looking for one more. Thank you in advance for your contributions!

After school we have a group of students who are enthusiastic about learning piano and have learned some simple songs on the class piano.

I would like to take this a step further and have students specialize in piano during music appreciation classes and be able to experience the joy that comes from learning an instrument.

Our pianos will be well taken care of and used for years to come, you can be sure your donation will affect many student lives.
