My Students
My students are spunky, full of energy and need an outlet for their energy.
My students need equipment and structured P.E.
time.
I need the tools to teach them actual sports that they can enjoy and fall back on as adults.
I know some schools are fortunate enough to have an actual physical education program and teacher. Unfortunately in our district, we don't. This responsibility falls all on the classroom teacher.
I need the tools and equipment to be able to teach warm-up exercises and team sports and give them healthy lifetime tools.
My Project
Being able to teach warm-up exercises, team sports and activities requires adequate teaching tools and equipment. This not only will help me to provide a more structured physical education time, but it will, in turn, provide more physical activity in their day.
Since I do not have any classroom PE equipment, I am unable to teach sports and physical activities.
I have students complaining that they are tired. I know that is due to lack of endurance from having no physical activity in their day.
I hope to use the equipment to have a full class session of warm-up/stretch exercises, followed by lessons on how to play team sports such as baseball.
Realistically I can see some of my students who would prefer other activities, therefore I will have a few other sports activities going on at the same time.
