Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is a fourth grade class in a high-need, equity plus, Title one school. We are about 95% free and reduced lunch.
I am starting a technology club for the students. We are in a high poverty area with about 65% Hispanic population. The majority of our students do not have access to technology unless they are in school.
In a technology club I will be able to expose the students to various technologies. One important piece of technology for us would be a digital camera with docking station. This would give me the opportunity to teach the students about photography and then to use the digital camera to insert pictures into presentations such as PowerPoint slide shows. Also having the docking station the students would be able to personalize their projects, such as, taking pictures of various aspects of nature to put on a science poster.
Your help would provide my students with exposure and education that many would not be able to receive.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
