My Students
We are constantly on the search for new knowledge and wisdom and understanding of the human condition through literature and the arts.
My students are very hands-on with their learning.
They like to "do" instead of watch from the sidelines. Our school is part of a beautiful and small community that is unfortunately located in an underserved area that is low on resources that could help supplement and expose students to the rest of the world. While we can make it happen, it is definitely not without help from others outside of the community.
My Project
We are asking for two DSLR cameras to be shared among a class of 20 students. This is the first time that a lot of my students are being taught about the fundamentals and the art of photography. They will be using these cameras to take their artistic journeys and stories through pictures outside of the classroom and would love to show everyone the way they see the world.
It would be very difficult to have a photography class without any cameras.
Having these cameras in the classroom will teach students how to use technology and will help hone in on their skills in photography. My students want to capture the beauty they see in the community, in nature, in city lights, and in people. They all have a story to tell and they want you all to see it for yourself in the photographs they take.
