This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are AMAZING! The school we are at is a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. We have a fantastic administration, wonderful teammates, and the best students! My students are very hard workers and also know how to have fun. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I love seeing their faces every morning.

My students have a desire to learn.

They always want to know more, learn more, do more, read more of everything. Our classroom is our own little family.

My Project

Because my students are English Language Learners, ELL, they need a lot of visuals. A digital camera allows us to take pictures of how our lines, desks, writing area, etc. should look.

They will also use the digital camera to make book commercials and other projects throughout the year.

Part of the curriculum for ELL students is speaking and listening. A fun way to incorporate this is to have students record each other reading and making questions for other students. After a book is read by a student, they can make a book commercial so their classmates can learn about their book.

The other way the students benefit is that they will be making a classroom yearbook and can include the pictures that they take all year long. There will be a class photographer daily, so they all have a chance to use the camera!
