My classroom is in a small community in rural Oklahoma where many students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students always come in and greet me as soon as they arrive at school with smiles, hugs, and cries of, "Good morning!" They have big hearts.
My students are energetic and love coming to school.
They are eager to learn and try new things. They like to learn through play and being engaged in what they are doing. I love teaching and watching them grow through the year. I love watching them succeed at what they are learning. One of my favorite things about teaching first grade is watching the students in my class learn to read.
My Project
These materials will help meet the needs of my students. In my 1st grade classroom, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my students are learning at many multiple levels of phonics skills. Some of my students are working on letter naming and sounds while others are working on long vowels. Several are fluently reading and need to start the next step to learning to write and mastering comprehension.
These games and resources are fun and engaging ways to help my first grade students learn.
First graders love learning through play. Playing games helps them master their skills they are working on and develop social and emotional skills at the same time. They love to learn and these will make it even more engaging and fun for them to learn.
