This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are halfway through the year and my students are eager to learn. Their positive attitudes and enthusiasm to learn encourages me every day to give them the learning experiences that will last a lifetime. Being a first grade teacher I am trying to make learning more hands-on to close the gaps on reading. So far we have used sound boxes, phonics magnets, magnetic tiles, pop its, etc.
My students will have so far been thriving in a science of reading based learning environment.
For the past three years I have been implementing more science of reading strategies. Every year I am more motivated to do better for my students. The materials I am asking for focus on sounds in words, separating the sounds, oral cues, and matching letters and spelling patterns to sounds. They will be used during Language Arts centers to make learning fun and independent. They will provide the opportunity for learning my students need to close the gap.
