These 10 phonics kits will make a huge difference in our classroom, having our own set of phonic kits to utilize daily during small group lessons will allow my students to receive direct and explicit reading instruction, that they are engaged and excited about.
I will no longer be asked, “When it is our turn to use the phonics kits?”
We currently have 10 kits that 4 classrooms share. This project will allow each class to have their own set of 5 phonics kits.
I’ve seen growth in my students reading skills due to utilizing the phonic kits. Growth in their letter sound recognition, their mapping and graphing skills as well. They are engaged and love using the kits too!
As a teacher I always want to provide what’s best for my students even if it’s outside of my budget, please help my students and the kindergarten team at JIES to each have five phonics kits permanently in their classrooms.
