Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to give my students the opportunity to create more hands-on activities to help them with their phonological awareness along with history by creating art projects. I'm a Spanish Dual language teacher and I want to provide more awareness of reading and history through the arts.
Hispanic heritage month is coming upon us and I want to create a mural of flags for my high population of students with Hispanic heritage.
I will incorporate more art projects to help enhance the love or reading and history in the classroom. I notice the last two years my students were not meeting reading goals and I want to bring back that passion and readiness with art. We will create an alphabet book with corresponding items of each letter to help us with decoding and reading in Spanish.
