My Students
I have the privileged of teaching in a low income, Title I school in Utah. We serve a highly diverse population with student from around the globe, with many student speaking more than one language. They are enthusiastic and eager to grow in their learning but we often lack the proper resources to supplement that learning to the fullest. Despite the challenges they have already faced in their young lives, they are always joyful, loving, compassionate little people who always try their best.
My Project
These manipulative will assist my students in independent work, giving them the opportunity to take control of their own learning. While I meet with small groups each day my students will have an opportunity to use these learning centers to engage in activities that will reinforce their learning in fun and positive ways. It will also give them an opportunity to engage in social emotional skill that are necessary for life long learning. They will be able to work in pairs or small groups, which we call peer learning, this can aid in increasing their knowledge of key concepts learned in whole group settings.
