My Project
This semester, I want to focus more on phonics instruction to better support my students. Due to COVID, many of my students need additional support in their foundational literacy skills. I want to provide them with hands-on activities to help build and solidify their reading skills and confidence.
Even though they are 3rd graders, my students still enjoy and are more engaged with manipulatives and hands-on activities.
The resources I am requesting will help all my students during small group instruction.
The guided reading strips and pointers will help my students stay on track when they are reading while making reading more fun. The box mats, magnetic wands, and slinkies will help my students decode words. They will be able to manipulate each part of the word in a visual and physical way. I believe that it is important to include all types of learning to help students former greater and stronger connections. Similarly, magnetic letters will allow my students to build and manipulate words. The mini-center will help me keep all of our tools and resources organized in an effective and efficient way. Finally, the Teachers-Pay-Teachers gift card will allow me to support other teachers as well as purchase materials and activities for my own classroom. In addition to the manipulatives, I also want to provide my students with various hands-on activities where they can apply their knowledge and skills.
