My Project
The Science of Reading is the understanding of how our brains learn to read. A key component is explicit, targeted phonics instruction. The resource I would buy with this donation would give my students an entire year of phonics skills practice, aligned perfectly with our curriculum. The more exposures students have to a skill, the quicker they learn. This resource will keep my students engaged and having fun, while applying their learning from our phonics lessons. My school is a low income, title I school. The more opportunities I can put in front of my students to become better readers, the more I can help students who may otherwise fall through the cracks.
