My Project
My first grade students all eager to read! However, most are reading well behind grade level and we desperately need materials to engage my students in learning and practicing phonics.
I am asking for fun phonics games, puzzles and manipulatives to make learning basic phonics skills fun and multi-sensory!
We have 23 energetic students in our class! Some of my students are learning English as a second language, 7 receive special education services and a few are having their first school classroom experience post-pandemic. All of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and everyone eats free breakfast in our classroom each morning.
My students are very eager to learn how to read independently and we need games, puzzles, flashcards, magnetic letters and leveled phonics readers to help my struggling readers gain proficiency in basic phonics skills.
My students will be able to use these games and phonics materials daily during our reading centers and small group reading instruction. I know that these games and materials will engage them in learning and practicing phonics and reading skills, so that they can become proficient readers.
