Help me give my students hands on phonics games - The Lakeshore Learning Roll & Read Phonics and Pop and Match Game Sets can provide fun-filled phonics enrichment.
Each day during the school year, I am fortunate to spend the day with a group of energetic, curious, loving and eager first-grade students. Their greatest gift is their genuine passion to explore all the possibilities this world has to offer them. They are honest and trusting, believing that I, as their teacher, will do everything I can to give them every possible opportunity to maximize their potential for present and future success. From the first moment of each day, through to dismissal, they give all they have to make that day the best possible.
More than half of my students are living in low-income households, and the same percentage are first-generation U.S.
citizens. They have watched how hard their parents work to provide them with a safe, comfortable home in a country that values freedom and imagination. As incredible as their young imaginations may be, hands-on materials are necessary to reinforce basic decoding and comprehension skills.
My Project
With these sets, the students will "get fast-paced phonics practice…with every roll of the dice! These games help children decode new words by letting them focus on short vowel sounds, long vowel sounds, blends and digraphs, or word families. Kids just roll the dice and try to be the first to build all of their words—sound by sound!"
"Children simply grab a set of write & wipe game cards and a color-coded popper…take turns popping the letter cube inside…then use the letters to complete the words on their game cards." This is the great fun-filled experience on which students thrive!
