This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are energetic, curious learners who benefit from structured, engaging, and interactive literacy activities. They are committed to developing skills with decoding words, sentences, and vocabulary.

Several of my students present with emergent skills in decoding and phonics.

Some are learning to build recall of phonics rules, while others are developing fluency and comprehension skills. They thrive best with multi-sensory instruction activities. They benefit from repeated practice, both in the therapy room and at home to generalize skills.

I am requesting phonics and reading comprehension materials that include a variety of comprehension checks and strategies to foster critical thinking. These resources will allow students to engage in guided and independent practice.
