Phonemic Awareness Software

My students need interactive language software and 3 wireless mice. The language software includes games for phonemic awareness, rhyming, syllable work, and blending.

My Students

My students are eager students that are growing up in a technological world. They are learning differently than I did when I was in school. Sometimes, they learn through technology.

Some of my students' homes lack technology.

However, my students achievement tests are computer based. Most of my students lack computer skills. Unfortunately, the only access to computers my students get at school is when we visit the computer lab for 20 minutes on Mondays. I wish we could visit more, but that is the only exposure my students get to computers.

My Project

My students will be using these interactive games during morning work, during literacy and math centers, and after lunch during our down time. My students will be able to practice the skills we are using in class. They will also be able to practice skills they are missing. They will learn things like phonemic awareness, how to spell sight words, beginning sounds, ending sounds, word families, and numbers and operations.

This project will improve my classroom because it will allow my students to learn while having fun and playing games.

My students will have to work together because some of these games ask them to work as a team. These are skills that my students need to function in the academic world and in the real world. We are building skills that students will take with them beyond school.
