This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum provides 24-weeks of daily systematic phonemic awareness lessons. The lessons are short and engaging, designed to be the perfect supplement to an existing literacy curriculum. This program helps students learn rhyming, onset fluency, isolating sounds, phoneme manipulation, and blending and segmenting words, syllables, and phonemes.These skills have proven to have the greatest impact on later reading and writing success.
I want to set my students up for success with fundamental learning.
This program is research-based and will help set my students up with foundational reading skills that will help them for years to come! Using the Heggerty program and materials will help me be able to give my students a great start at being successful readers.
Secret Stories is a brain-based approach to phonics that brings the study of words to life in an engaging and playful way that deepens learning and makes it stick. Secret Stories is always teaching.These logical explanations are shared in the form of “secret” stories, which are the secret reasons why letters make all of the crazy sounds that they do when they get together in words. The “Secrets” will work seamlessly with my current reading and phonics program, fitting snugly between the teaching of reading and writing.
