My Project
Classroom pets stimulate learning, enrich the classroom experience, and provide emotional growth for students. Involving classroom pets into the daily classroom routine, projects, and assignments can bring enthusiasm and interest to the learning that goes on in the classroom. Classroom pets bring in that extra experience for students to have hands on interactions with animals, instill a sense of responsibility, and increase sensitivity and awareness. Having classroom pets will also have an impact on students' emotional growth through nurturing, self-esteem, responsibility, and friendships. Students will create a sense of ownership through feeding the fish, feeding the bearded dragon, caring for and showing affection to the bearded dragon, and cleaning the fish and bearded dragon enclosures. The major goal of this project is to bring learning to students in a way that is fun, hands on, and supports them both educationally and emotionally.
