Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students have few books, magazines, or other educational materials at home, so it's crucial that they experience every possible advantage at school. I teach 23 students and most of them are not native English speakers.
As a teacher at a high-poverty school, I am convinced that my students will excel when provided with quality materials and instruction.
I know that when they are immersed in engaging learning activities, they will thrive!
Pete the Cat is a favorite storybook character. My kids love him! I do too... not only do they feature engaging illustrations and repetitive text, but they also teach lessons about dealing with disappointments and fears.
"Because it's all good." Pete the Cat teaches a valuable lesson: even though life is full of disappointments and aggravations, we can keep plugging along and have a good day.
We will have a 'Pete the Cat' Day, in which we read about our favorite character, compare the stories, write about Pete, and use scented markers to draw pictures of Pete. Each child will choose a Pete the Cat book to keep at home forever.
