Help me give my students BOOKS, books that they have requested we purchase to be able to check out ad take home. As you can see, Mo Willems is their favorite author. They love Piggie, Gerald, and Pigeon!

My Project
Pete, Gerald, David, and George are all the names of book characters that my students have come to light up upon hearing. First grade is likely the most pivotal year in reading and fostering that love of reading is critical.
Our students have very limited access to check out books from our school library, once every other week for 15 minutes and 1 book.
They love visiting the school library but cannot do so often and students do not have the means to visit the public library either.
My students created the idea to build upon our classroom library but to be able to check books out and bring them home. They helped me develop the list of books they would love to bring home and share with their families.
