My Students
My students are imaginative, creative and full of wonder. They absolutely love new experiences that bring their learning to life! My students come to school each day with excitement anticipating what we will do each day.
Our school is in East Texas, where kindness is at our core.
We will live in a rural area where students are not always given the chance to have meaningful worldly experiences, so we bring that to life within our classroom walls. Giving my students what they need to be successful goes well beyond the curriculum. I am so excited to share and build on each classes different outlooks and experiences to solidify their love for learning.
My Project
Pets in the classroom provide an exciting environment that promotes student interest. When students are engaged in learning with real life experiences it makes their learning memorable. The resources in our project will me to add two different class pets. The students will prepare the habitats using the aquariums and materials in our project. Students will also care for our class pets, feeding them with the feed we have asked for and checking their water. They will measure the levels of water and add the solutions as needed.
We would like to add pets to our classroom to promote that excitement of coming to school.
We will also use our pets in a variety of instructional strategies. Relating the pets they love to science, math, social studies and reading will make their learning meaningful for the students.
Learning to care for a pet promotes responsibility and critical thinking skills for students. Students will be our pets primary caregivers, giving them the opportunity to develop lifelong skills. 53% of students say they prefer to complete their homework with a pet nearby, we are bringing that same excitement to our classroom!
