My Students
I teach an amazing class of diverse students who love to learn and are always excited to try new educational experiences. We are part of a Title I Early Education School in Brooklyn, NY, that includes Pre-K through grade 2. My incredible Pre-K class is made up of English Language Learners, some special education students, many different cultures, and lots of wonderful personalities.
My students learn best by using their imagination and their hands.
They like to do hands-on work to encourage discussions, discovery, vocabulary, and keep them engaged. Working with partners and groups, they learn to problem solve and be part of a team. We create a learning environment that is interesting and allows us to build on each other's strengths.
My Project
I would love to have a Cricut machine for my class. Students could personalize all of their books and folders with their names in vinyl. My 4 year-olds would love to see their names emblazoned on their notebooks, folders and cubbies! We could customize T-shirts for our graduation and special days. We could easily cut out shapes for projects on cardboard, card-stock and balsa wood. Games and manipulatives would be easy to create for us to use. Our bulletin boards will look wonderful with letters and pictures cut out using the Cricut.
The Cricut is such a versatile machine and would be valued in our class.
