This project is one that I learned about at the 2023 National Art Education Association Conference! We already do a digital patch project using Google Drawing and this project allows us to take another step forward with that design concept and make physical patches that students can stick or sew onto items they own and demonstrate what makes them unique and different.
Celebrating differences through design is something my students get excited about and this project allows them to take a trend of patches and create works they can actually wear or display.
This lesson will allow the use of fine motor skills, and the application of different media, as well as explore concepts that celebrate each student's understanding of what makes them unique!
