My Students
I am a passionate kindergarten teacher in a high poverty school. My goal for my students is for them to learn in a safe and loving environment. My classroom needs to be warm and inviting, a place where the students look forward to coming.
My students are four- and five-year-old children.
My classroom is often their first time in school. The school I work in consists mostly of African-American and Hispanic students. We struggle with attendance at my school. Students often arrive late or not at all. In my classroom, students that come to school on time are rewarded with Dojo points. They love Dojo points because at the end of each month they cash their points in for prizes. My classroom needs to be fun and engaging, a place my students love to be!
My Project
Most of my students come from low income homes. They live in public housing and don't have much to call their own. It is my job to educate them and also make them feel loved and special. I do this through positive reinforcement and words of encouragement. I love making my students personalized item using my cricuit. However, this is expensive and very time consuming I have to buy the items and make them. This press with cut my time by hours. I can bang out a class set of t-shirt, bags, masks and so much more in half the time. The vinyl will be used to make these projects. Thank you for making my students feel loved.
