My Students
Our school is a kindergarten through 8th-grade school in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia. Most of the special education students are bused to school. They are from all areas of Philadelphia. This project will benefit an amazing Autistic Support classroom. The students truly look forward to coming to school each day. They are eager and ready to learn! They also look forward to spending time with their peers. The classroom is one big family. We treat each other with love and respect. The classroom is like a home away from home.
My Project
I would like to start the 2020-2021 school year off with providing each student with personal storage space. The classroom space is changing due to Covid-19. I would like to try to make the classroom space a healthy and safe learning space as much as possible.
Students in this amazing Autistic Support, middle school classroom, would benefit from Seat Sacks in many ways.
The students' desks become filled with their own supplies and there is often no room for textbooks and notebooks. These Seat Sacks would provide additional space for textbooks and notebooks. There would be less movement around the classroom, which would provide less opportunities for sharing and germs. Each student would also have their own white boards and erasers, which we use on a daily basis for reading and math activities.
