This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my 25 active, joyful kindergarten students a large classroom rug.
A large rug with individual spaces will allow my students to improve their spatial awareness, learn about boundaries, and move safely.
As kindergarteners we spend a lot of time moving around, dancing, playing and learning together. We are currently using 2 smaller rugs pushed together, but they slide apart easily which can be unsafe. A rug that is big enough for everyone will promote collaboration. Having a rug with clearly defined spots will help each child practice personal space, respect boundaries, and develop spatial awareness.
I am also requesting desktop dividers to reinforce the importance of respecting each others’ space in other areas of the classroom.
