My Project
I love teaching. I love Shakespeare. I love teaching Shakespeare. He is, more than any other writer or teacher, why I am an English teacher. I love seeing kids' eyes light up when they GET it for the first time. The language, the jokes, the complexity, the humanity, all of it.
But if you're reading or teaching Shakespeare like it's a book instead of a play, you're doing it wrong.
And if you've ever done a play, you know how important your own copy of the script becomes. You mark it up, you take notes, you edit it, you have conversations with the author and the other characters; you make it personal.
Help me get my students their own copies of Shakespeare's The Tempest that they can make their own.
