My students need several types of interactive comprehension game software to utilize our Smart board effectively, and quick learning activities to make every minute count in our classroom.
I love to engage my students with my classroom Smart board. However, I lack the software resources to utilize it to promote learning through comprehension and vocabulary games. I also need quick learning tasks to make those last couple minutes of class time filled with meaningful learning.
My students are an enthusiastic group of fourth graders attending a public elementary school in southern Maryland.
Since I teach all fourth graders, they are an incredibly diverse group. Students range from the highly gifted to students with special needs. One thing they all love is learning through games!
My Project
The resources I'm requesting will fill a void in my classroom. The software games will help utilize my interactive Smart board to its fullest potential, while engaging students to work in cooperative groups as they practice their reading and vocabulary through fun, educational games. Once lessons are completed for the day, any extra minutes will be filled with continued learning with the 5-minute filler teaching card activities so that engaged classroom learning extends to the very last minute of class. The magnetic dart board will allow students to keep track of points earned for each of their cooperative learning groups.
All of these activities will enhance my classroom learning environment and help keep my students' minds focused on classroom instruction!
I can think of no better way to promote students' minds to remain on-task and engaged than through the use of games!
