Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It will never stop amazing me to see the same student who is unsure and quiet in class become the star of the show! It is the magic of theater.
Our students will use these wigs and props to help them perform poetry, dramatic readings, and skits that they have written in order to teach their younger peers about topics related to health, communication, and the experiences of being an adolescent.
Something transformative happens when a group of young people work together to produce a performance. Confidence bubbles to the surface, new words become exciting to learn rather than scary, and students become teachers.
To call it magic is not going too far, if you ask me!
