Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten to some of the hardest working 5- and 6-year-olds around! They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students live in an extremely low-income area which often limits their exposure to life experiences. Because of this, I try to bring as many real-life discoveries into our classroom that I can. My students take on every challenge head-on and would love to have a science-based classroom!

My students work really hard to achieve our classroom goals, I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.

That includes having materials to help get kids extra energy out after the long school day, so that they can learn in the classroom!

My Project

We would like to request prizes for our staff and students to distribute throughout the day to help brighten our students' day. In the news lately we have noticed a lot of negativity and unknown around education. Students don't know if they will be allowed to be continue to be Americans, if they will have the funding needed for their favorite activities, or what our new testing standards will be. So much is unknown about the future of education, not to mention violence and bullying in school. Our school has not had a problem with this as we are a zero tolerance school. Our staff does absolutely everything they can to support the students and their families. But, I do want students to know that when they are at school, they are loved.

My goal was to equip staff and students with fun prizes and catch students doing something right!

Too often our students who are doing everything right get overlooked. We as adults often miss the quiet student in the corner who is trying their best, due to the kids who are often in trouble. I want to help our school and staff continue to find the good in our students. I hope to give the staff fun and exciting prizes that they cannot wait to give to that hardworking, under-appreciated student. I know that this will help those kids feel more positive about school and know that their efforts are not going unnotticed. Hopefully, the buzz from all of the new prizes even helps to get some of our troubled kids on board as well! Thank you for your consideration on this project!
