This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The band at our school has been growing quickly over the past five years! Our students are excited to be part of the music program; the whole arts program has become a beacon in our community.

Students at our Title I school thrive in the arts and have demonstrated their skills by advancing to the state-level festival, receiving multiple unanimous top ratings, and having students place in all-state level ensembles.

Our arts programs continue to be a draw for the school and membership in the musical ensembles has again become a family tradition.

My Project

We're looking to help out a few of our students with some percussion playing equipment. Sometimes sticks break, but they are expensive to replace, and this will help a ton. We'll also get a nice triangle for our more delicate concert band moments!

Our brass players could also use some valve oil; if you've been in band, you know that valve oil is like water for brass-playing students!

Some students have their own, but many depend on the classroom stock and we're starting to run a bit low!
