This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With social media as a main source of entertainment, this project aims to get students to think critically while socializing with their peers. Strategy board games can help foster important skills in our youth.

Our students come from all over the county.

The diverse student body enriches our school and the school itself aims to provide its students with a personalized, relevant and unique learning experience. The students all have rich experiences that we try so hard to add value and skills to.

My Project

My students need 7 strategy board games, including Risk, Small World, and Dominion. The strategy board games will be the central focus of a built-in time during the school day designed to expose students to a variety of unique experiences. Our class aims to provide students with exposure to various strategy games in order to develop and strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Having played most of these games, I can attest to how much my mind has been challenged.

These games are not your typical board games with simple objectives. Rather these games will force students to practice their decision making in a safe way. Plus, these kids will have a lot of fun in the process of learning and playing.
