Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a K4 teacher bilingual in a public school in the Southside in Milwaukee. Developmental preschool is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold pencils and crayons. My classroom has 25 students, distributed as follows, 4 and 5 years. Some students receive the service for Special Education (speech therapy, behavior, assistance in academic areas such as reading, writing math). All my students are of low economic resources.

As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers.

My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day together helping to create strong bonds of trust, fun, colorful teaching based on our standards.

My Project

Help me create a love of reading and writing through reading. My bilingual K-4 students are little treasures ready to be discovered. The opportunity to have their own books in addition to helping them with the values ​​and responsibilities of their daily lives will give them the opportunity to fall in love and love reading.

This will be a wonderful adventure for my little treasures.
