This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of the students at my school come from low income families. They are hard workers and love to learn. My school is very understanding of the different challenges the students face. We try to help as much as we can, by keeping their enthusiasm about learning and excelling. My students are special because they are learning in two languages. They have excellent attendance and are very well behaved. They also exhibit great manners by the way they treat their peers and their teacher.

My Project

Students will be reading the same book as this will allow for us to have classroom discussions and connect our learning to a text and to our lives. The book Esperanza Rising is a story that will help my students learn about social economics, the different harvesting seasons, migrating, character change and mixed feelings. This book will also prepare my students from the beginning of the school year to read English and to be prepared to share with the class about the different topics that this amazing story has. This book will benefit the lives of my students to become more understanding of others, to work hard and not to give up.
