My students need pens, pencils, paper, highlighters, and books to write, read, and share their learning.

My Students

My students love researching different topics and publishing their work in the halls and on bulletin boards to share with their peers and school community .

I teach an academically, socially, economically, and linguistically diverse group of sixth graders.

I work diligently to differentiate instruction and meet the unique educational needs of all students. My students want to learn and take pride in working to their full potential. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood over 80% of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

My Project

I am requesting basic school supplies as many of my students frequently come to school without pens, pencils, and paper. Highlighters are essential for close reading, learning test taking strategies, or taking notes. The paper will be used for class assignments and publishing students' writing. The books will be added to our class library.

Having school supplies available for students to use decreases their anxiety as many students live in poverty.

Allowing students to print their assignments on colored paper is both rewarding and motivating.
